This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, how we use it, and the rights you have. We keep it short and honest.
Who we are
Website Design for Plumbers is a website design service for UK plumbers, operated by Gary and based in Scotland. It is part of the Get A Trades Website family — the same business, trading under a plumber-focused brand. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller under reference ZC133661, which you can verify at ico.org.uk. If you have any question about this policy, use the contact form and it comes straight to Gary.
What information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you give us — when you fill in the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one) and the details in your message.
- Information collected automatically — when you visit the site, our privacy-friendly analytics records anonymous, aggregated usage data (pages viewed, device type, approximate region). This does not identify you personally.
How we use your information
The details you submit through the contact form are used solely to reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to help build your website. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not sell or pass your details to any third party for marketing. Analytics data is used only to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Cookies
This site is deliberately light on tracking. We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, which is a cookie-less, privacy-friendly analytics tool — it does not set tracking cookies, does not follow you across other sites, and does not collect data that identifies you. As a result, this site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and there is no cookie banner to click through. If we ever add anything that needs your consent, we will ask first.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of reputable providers that may process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — securely stores contact-form submissions in an EU-hosted database. (supabase.com/privacy)
- Resend — delivers your enquiry to us by email. (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy)
- Ahrefs Web Analytics — cookie-less, anonymous website usage stats. (ahrefs.com/privacy)
- Cloudflare — hosting, delivery and DNS for this site. (cloudflare.com/privacypolicy)
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which may log your IP address. (policies.google.com/privacy)
Data storage and security
Contact-form submissions are stored securely in a Supabase database (EU region) and a notification is delivered to us by email via Resend. The whole site is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through the form is encrypted in transit. We keep your details only for as long as needed to answer your enquiry or complete your project, then delete them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these, just get in touch via the contact form and we'll sort it. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. For anything significant we'll make it obvious.
